6-Minute Caramel Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. Place the granulated sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir the sugar continuously with a heat-resistant spatula or wooden spoon as it begins to melt. Keep stirring until all the sugar has melted and turned into a smooth, amber-colored liquid. Be cautious, as melted sugar can become very hot.
  3. Once the sugar has completely melted, add the cubed butter to the saucepan. Stir continuously until the butter is fully melted and incorporated into the caramel.
  4. Gradually pour in the heavy cream while stirring. Be cautious, as the mixture may bubble up.
  5. Let the caramel sauce simmer for about 1-2 minutes, continuing to stir, until it thickens slightly.
  6. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  7. Allow the caramel sauce to cool for a few minutes before transferring it to a heat-resistant container.

Serving:

Use this 6-Minute Caramel Sauce immediately as a drizzle over ice cream, cakes, pancakes, or any dessert of your choice. Alternatively, let it cool completely and use it as a delicious dip for fruits or pretzels.
